Shower Curtains: Put
your plastic shower curtain in the wash with two white bath towels.
Add your detergent with just a little bit of bleach. Add 1 cup of
vinegar to the rinse cycle. This will help keep it from getting
mildew again.
My Verdict: After following the
directions my shower curtain came out mostly clean. I did not use
bleach. I have well water and so I have a lot of iron build up on my
shower curtains. Almost all the iron was gone. I did not know that
you could wash plastic shower curtains. When my shower curtain starts
getting red from iron I typically toss it and buy a new cheap one.
So, I am glad that I found a way to save some money and make my
curtains last longer. As for vinegar helping with mildew build up,
only time will tell.
Do you throw out your plastic shower
curtains or do you clean them? If you clean them what do you use?
